Experts, business representatives, students and others interested in the topic of cyber security development in Bulgaria joined forces in the new international project CyberClub. It was created by the Emerging Technology Integration Cluster (ETIC), in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence Cluster and the United Drone Society Association, and is being developed in partnership with a number of academic, business and non-profit organisations.
The main activity of the club members consists of organizing and participating in various events aimed at developing and promoting policies, strategies and best practices in the field of cybersecurity. Twelve CSOs, eight academic bodies, six companies and four public sector representatives are already involved in the project.
The aim of the CyberCLUB initiative is to promote among Bulgarian students and the academic community emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, virtual reality, drones, the interaction between them, and the information security challenges associated with their penetration. Among the priorities of the initiative is the creation of conditions for the implementation of interdisciplinary projects in these areas, as well as the enhancement of cyberculture among the general public.
More than 70 organizations have already joined the partner network, including eight of the largest universities in the country, the largest employers’ organization (KRIB), ISACA Sofia Chapter, CyberSecurity Talks Bulgaria and associations and clusters in technology sectors such as drones, robotics, artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
The newest CyberClub was founded at the Varna Naval University “Nikola Ionkov Vaptsarov” this month.
More information about the club and the opportunity to join can be found here.
Why is CyberClub a good practice?
CyberCLUB is an excellent example of good practice due to their ability to bring together diverse actors – from academia, business and civil society – to develop and promote cyber security strategies and policies. This multidisciplinary integration and commitment to the promotion of emerging technologies and cybersecurity make it a valuable initiative for raising awareness and cyberculture in Bulgaria.
