The Portuguese National Cybersecurity Centre (CNCS) is on a mission to foster a cyberspace that is not just free, but also reliable and secure, with a specific focus on national interest. Acting as the operational coordinator and national authority in cybersecurity matters, CNCS plays a pivotal role for State entities, operators of critical infrastructures, operators of essential services, and digital service providers.
In pursuit of its mission, CNCS strategically engages in several key activities: Raising Awareness and Training, Guidance and Standards, Knowledge Production, Incident Coordination and Regulation and Supervision. In simple terms, CNCS is more than just a protector of online safety; it actively works to make Portugal’s digital world safe. It does this by spreading awareness, giving advice, sharing information, handling online issues, and making rules. In these ways, CNCS is like a strong shield, looking out for Portugal’s cybersecurity.
