Join the European Commission from the 23-27 October for the seventh edition of the European Vocational Skills Week, the annual Week celebrating all the best practices from Vocational Education and Training (VET). In the upcoming 2023 edition digital skills have centerstage, the event will underscore the critical role of vocational education and training (VET) in fostering essential digital skills for individuals of all ages, enabling career growth and personal advancement in the digital era. 

The Technology Transfer Innovation Report – Patras lnnovation Quest – PATRAS IQ, held since 2012, has established itself as a meeting point between the research and production sectors and is a long-standing development initiative promoting a set of networking and transfer of know-how and technology actions, the leading event being the annual 3-day exhibition, which this year will take place on 25, 26 and 27 November 2023 at the Conference Cultural Centre of the University of Patras.

On 30 November 2023 at 10.00pm – 14.00pm, the European Commission is organising its third online Annual Digital Consumer Event to discuss the problems consumers are currently facing in the digital transition, with broad public participation, academics, consumer and business associations, and authorities.

The opening speech will be delivered by the Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders, followed by the Chair and Coordinators of the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO).

The start of a cross-sectoral arena for digital excellence will be a conference focusing on skills supply within cyber security. Participants from the public and private sectors will explore solutions to meet the growing demand for skilled employees.

Organised by the SnT Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Luxembourg in collaboration with TechSense from The Dots, this event promised to change how you think about innovation. The event will contribute to the EdTech Talents and DigitalTech EDIH projects, with the active support of the EdTech ecosystem in Hungary. 

As part of the Digital Education Action Plan, the European Commission has actively explored the development of the European Digital Skills Certificate (EDSC), aiming to streamline the certification and recognition of digital skills across Europe by governments, employers, and stakeholders. Built upon the European Digital Competence Framework (DigComp), this framework enables individuals to self-assess their digital skills, set learning objectives, and remains adaptable to the dynamic digital landscape.
