Valletta, May 13, 2024 — The ALL DIGITAL Weeks campaign, a pivotal pan-European initiative focusing on digital skills for inclusion, empowerment, and employment, is set to kick off its 2024 edition from May 13 to May 31. Organised by the ALL DIGITAL Network, this campaign has been a beacon of digital literacy since its inception in 2010, positively impacting the lives of nearly 1.5 million individuals by either introducing them to the online world or enhancing their digital prowess.
Operating across digital competence centres, libraries, community hubs, schools, and venues throughout Europe, the ALL DIGITAL Weeks campaign annually aids over 50,000 Europeans from 20+ countries. Its mission is to educate and inspire individuals about technology’s transformative power, emphasising the opportunities that digital advancements bring.
Supported by the European Commission, the ALL DIGITAL Weeks 2024 edition will see collaboration with international and national partners and participating organisations across Europe. Building upon the successes of previous years and aligning with the European Year of Skills, the 2024 campaign will spotlight digital democracy, civic engagement, and social responsibility, especially pertinent in the lead-up to the European elections in June.
The campaign aims to address the challenges posed by online disinformation and the critical need for information literacy among Europe’s citizens. Additionally, it will explore initiatives, solutions, and tools fostering participation, equity, and inclusion while navigating the promises and threats posed by Artificial Intelligence technologies.
Under the banner of “Enhance your Digital Skills,” the campaign calls upon all European citizens and residents to embrace learning, from fundamental to advanced digital skills, to navigate the evolving digital landscape confidently. Moreover, it will support the implementation of specific actions outlined in the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan 2021-27, primarily focusing on enhancing digital skills for the ongoing digital transformation.
Key Objectives:
