Following EVP Mînzatu’s official announcement, a call for applications to join the Commission informal expert group ‘STEAM Executive Panel’ has been launched.
The work of the Panel will be instrumental in the continued implementation of the STEM Education Strategic Plan. The Panel will be composed of approximately 20 members, representing education, leading STEM businesses and social partners.
Together, they will provide strategic insights and guidance on improving collaboration between education and training institutions and businesses active in STEM fields, with a view to better align skills supply and labour market needs and support the talent development of adaptable STEM graduates for a rapidly evolving society.
The Panel will advise on key priorities, including:
- Providing expertise and recommendations on how to improve collaboration between education and training institutions and businesses, to better align skills supply and labour market needs
- Advising the Commission on education and training policies that can effectively support the talent development of adaptable STEM graduates for a rapidly evolving society
- Identifying effective strategies for increasing participation in STEM/STEAM studies at all education levels, particularly by strengthening education-business cooperation
- Reflecting on the impact of the STEM Education Strategic Plan at EU and national level and share strategic insights with the High-level Skills Board on the most pressing skills gaps observed across different STEM business sectors, as well as the challenges and obstacles faced by STEM/STEAM education providers
- Contribute to the preparation of an annual ‘STEAM Education Outlook’, which will translate the policy objectives of the STEM Education Strategic Plan into practical, actionable strategies and recommendations that can lead to effective change on the ground
The Panel will represent a diverse, multi-stakeholder perspective, including representatives from European STEM-intensive business sectors, education and training experts (all educational levels), and labour market and policy specialists, such as representatives from employment agencies and social partners.
How to Apply: The call for applications is now open with submissions due by 5 July via the Register of Commission expert groups and other similar entities.
