Course Description:
This course is designed to equip adults and young adults with practical knowledge and digital awareness to navigate the internet safely and in a responsible manner. This is to be done both for their own use and when supporting children and teenagers. Through real-life examples, interactive demonstrations and open discussions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the risks present in the digital world and how to adopt safe habits when browsing, sharing content, communicating online and guiding younger users.
The course covers essential topics such as personal online safety, securing devices, creating strong passwords, identifying scams and phishing attempts, managing social media privacy, and setting up child-safe browsing tools. It also introduces participants to common online threats and teaches how to respond effectively to issues like cyberbullying.
The material is to be delivered in plain English language and focuses on practical skills that learners can immediately apply and use in their daily lives. This can be done both at home and within their families or communities.
