Intellectual Property and Licensing is a DigiAdvance course developed by the University of Aveiro.
DigiAdvance courses aim to advance the knowledge and skills of SME leaders, managers, employees and job seekers in key digital technologies.
This course assessment can be fully online, blended, or face-to-face and in daytime or evening (to be consulted at the public notice), and participants receive a certificate of achievement at the end of the course.
Learning outcomes
Train students to manage and develop intellectual property protection (IPP) processes, through the identification of political and institutional mechanisms and available instruments, from the national and international patent system to the legal and technical issues of technology licensing.
Provide knowledge about the relationship between the protection of intellectual property and the promotion of innovation.
Students should acquire skills in the handling of intellectual property protection and licensing instruments, aimed at fostering innovation in the assessment and (strategic) use of relevant mechanisms and instruments in this domain, to ensure competitive advantages.
Students may register for the course any time from 15 October to 4 December 2025.
