The Future of Jobs Report 2025

The Future of Jobs Report 2025 analyses how major global trends are expected to reshape work, jobs and skills between 2025 and 2030, drawing on survey data from over 1,000 leading global employers representing more than 14 million workers across 22 industries and 55 economies.

The report identifies five major drivers of labour-market change:

  • Technological change, especially digital access and AI technologies;
  • Economic uncertainty and cost pressures;
  • Climate and green transitions;
  • Demographic shifts such as ageing and changing population structures;
  • Geoeconomic fragmentation and geopolitical tensions.

These trends will transform demand for jobs and skills. Employers expect both job creation and displacement by 2030, with around 170 million new roles created and 92 million jobs displaced, resulting in a net gain of approximately 78 million jobs.

Growth is expected in technology-related roles (e.g., AI, big data, cybersecurity), green and energy transition occupations, and care and education professions, while many clerical, administrative and routine jobs are projected to decline.

Skill requirements are rapidly evolving: employers say roughly 39 % of current skill sets will change by 2030. Core skills in highest demand include analytical thinking, resilience and flexibility, alongside technology literacy and leadership capabilities.

The report also highlights significant skills gaps as a barrier to transformation, and notes employers’ increasing focus on upskilling, reskilling and talent strategies, including diversity, equity and inclusion measures, to prepare workforces for future needs
