QURECA (Quantum Resources and Careers) was founded in 2019 by Dr. Araceli Venegas-Gomez with the aim of bridging the gap between academia, industry, and the broader public in the rapidly evolving field of quantum technologies. Taking into account recent developments around the quantum revolution, the organisation’s mission is focused around education and ensuring the necessary skills and knowledge for individuals and businesses around the globe.
Background and context
QURECA was founded specifically in response to an identified gap between quantum research outputs and the technology’s practical application in industry settings. There is an urgent need to not only address the workforce gap in quantum technology, but also to ensure knowledge of quantum techniques is accessible to all.
About QURECA
QURECA offers a range of services, including professional development, business consulting, and tailored training programs for individuals and companies seeking to enter or expand within the quantum sector. The platform helps quantum companies with their business development endeavours, and supports large corporations in understanding and integrating quantum technologies into their strategies. Its mission is to connect all stakeholders in the quantum ecosystem—researchers, industry, government, and the public—using a common language and shared opportunities.
The organisation, which is based in Spain, also coordinates the QTIndu (Quantum Technology Courses for Industry) project, funded under the Digital Europe Programme of the European Commission, together with a pan-European consortium of 11 academic and industry partners.
