FARI (AI for the Common Good institute) is a non-profit AI initiative led by Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB). The initiative assists citizens, politicians, companies, and non-profits in tackling local and long-term challenges in the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium, and Europe. FARI aims at closing the gap between AI experts, local stakeholders and citizens. By engaging top researchers, FARI creates a cycle of innovation: it addresses city problems through projects, potentially driving significant advances in AI (Explainable and Trustworthy), Open Data, and human-centric Robotics. This initiative forms a virtuous circle, benefiting both the community and scientific progress.
