From Monday 16 June to Monday 30 June, public bodies, as well as civil servants or officials, can submit their proposals for the Digital Governance Awards through the platform www.digitalawards.gov.gr.
More specifically, in the context of the Ministry of Digital Governance’s strategy for the digital transformation of the state, the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance of the Ministry of Digital Governance is launching the Digital Governance Awards for the third year. This institution enhances the transition to a more modern, open and efficient Public Administration, which responds substantially to the needs of citizens.
The competition aims to recognize and reward civil servants and officials, who with their work, innovative ideas and initiatives contribute substantially to the digital upgrading and modernization of the Public Administration.
The exact date for the announcement of the winners and the organisation of the special award ceremony will be announced after the completion of the evaluation process of the proposals.
The seven thematic categories of the Awards are:
- Central Public Administration
- Local government (municipalities/regions)
- Economy – Growth and Entrepreneurship
- Health – Work and Social Affairs
- Education – Culture – Sport
- Justice – Citizen Security
- Home (for digital transformation actions of the Ministry of Digital Governance and its supervised bodies)
Each category consists of two subcategories: Best Applied Idea, which distinguishes ideas that have been in operation or trial phase for at least three months prior to the submission of applications and (b) Best New Idea, which distinguishes ideas that are in conception or experimental phase, but have not yet been put into production or trial operation.
The Digital Governance Awards, held for the first time in 2022, received a strong response from civil servants and officials, underlining their meaningful participation in the advancement of the digital transformation.
The website www.digitalawards.gov.gr provides detailed information about the terms of the competition.
