The University of Burgos (UBU), a public university in Spain, was established in 1994 after separating from the University of Valladolid. As of 2024, it serves around 9,100 students across three campuses: Vena, San Amaro-Milanera, and Miranda de Ebro, fostering academic and cultural growth.
UBU’s first rector, José María Leal Villalba, served from 1997 to 2008, followed by Alfonso Murillo Villar, Manuel Pérez Mateos, and currently José Miguel García Pérez. The university has steadily expanded, launching online degrees in 2013 and earning recognition as a campus of international excellence in 2014. In 2022, it joined the European Regional University Network (RUN-EU), further enhancing its global reputation and academic collaborations.
