Malta Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (LISP)

Since its launch in 2021 under the Connecting Europe Facility programme, the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform (DSJP) has helped Europeans to advance their digital skills and knowledge, further their careers, and add value to their organisations. Over the past 5 years, DSJP has grown into an important European hub for digital skills development, playing a key role in advancing the objectives of the Digital Europe Programme and contributing to the ambitions of the Digital Decade.

A vital function, grounded in partnerships

DSJP provides high-quality, accessible content and tools that empower people and organisations to succeed in the digital transition, helping individuals who want to improve their digital literacy, educators in search of new resources, policymakers designing inclusive strategies, or businesses looking to invest in digital upskilling.

A cornerstone of the Platform’s success is its close collaboration with the National Coalitions for Digital Skills and Jobs. These national-level partnerships ensure that regional and sectoral needs are represented, while also enabling local initiatives to scale into broader European impact. Through this network, good practices are shared, synergies are created, and efforts are better aligned with the EU’s overarching digital objectives.

A pan-European resource

The Platform provides high-quality content and resources tailored to a diverse audience. Its inclusive design ensures that stakeholders across Europe can access and benefit from the growing digital ecosystem.

Over the years, the Platform has evolved into a comprehensive resource centre where users can:

  • Explore learning with 500+ training opportunities and 20 learning paths, tailored to different skill levels and professions
  • Stay informed through regularly updated news about national and EU strategies, digital policy, and relevant events, and explore opinion pieces from topical experts
  • Get inspiration from a large variety of good practices and pledger organisations that drive impactful projects and partnerships forward
  • Connect with a community of over 21,000 individuals and organisations, including public authorities, civil society representatives, academia, and the private sector

This collective space is designed for everyone. It fosters knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and cross-border collaboration, which are key to meeting Europe’s digital ambitions.

New phases, new impacts

The Platform has taken major steps forward:

  • In 2023, the Platform became the official home of the Cybersecurity Skills Academy, part of the European Year of Skills; the Academy plays a critical role in closing the cybersecurity skills gap and bolstering Europe’s digital resilience
  • 2024 brought the Digital Skills Talks series onto the Platform: 30-minute expert-led conversations on emerging technologies, trends, and policy challenges that offer valuable insights for professionals and decision-makers
  • 2025 saw a revamp of the Platform that improved user experience and platform navigation, as well as a new training repository (Training 2.0) that has enabled the platform to scale its capabilities in support of the Digital Europe Programme

5 years of growth

Over the past five years, the Platform has driven real growth and engagement. Its community has expanded to include more than 21,000 members, and 858 registered organisations. The active participation of 23 National Coalitions helps to create a robust, collaborative European network.

The initiative has also prioritized learning and impact, offering a wide variety of ways to improve and upgrade your digital skills or test your digital competence, with over 540 trainings, 20 learning paths, and 180 learning resources to boost digital skills for individuals and organisations.

This effort has resulted in the promotion of more than 300 Good Practices (successful approaches, upskilling initiatives, and projects that have the potential to be replicated in different contexts), the signing of 81 Pledges, in which an organisation commits to making a direct contribution to reducing the digital skills gap in Europe, and the formation of 10 industry-academia partnerships through the Cybersecurity Skills Academy, demonstrating its commitment to fostering innovation and practical solutions for the growing cybersecurity skills and talent shortage in Europe.

Looking ahead: what’s next?

The momentum continues with the upcoming European Digital Skills Awards 2026, which will highlight Europe’s most inspiring and impactful digital skills initiatives this year. This celebration of excellence aims to showcase scalable models and foster greater awareness of successful digital education and training solutions.

Join the celebration!

As the Platform completes its fifth year, its mission remains clear: to empower individuals and organisations across Europe with the tools, knowledge, and connections they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital world. A month-long campaign is underway to mark this milestone, spotlighting user stories, celebrating our achievements, and unveiling exciting prospects for the future.

Citizens, stakeholders, and partners are invited to join the conversation under the hashtag #Home4DigitalSkills and follow the campaign on the @DigitalSkillsEU channels on LinkedIn, X and Facebook.

Here’s to 5 more years of connecting, growing together, and advancing digital skills across Europe!
