Empowering Malta’s Digital Future
The Boost Your Coding Scheme is an initiative by the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) designed to empower individuals aged 16 and over to pursue basic or introductory coding courses. Through financial support, participants will gain essential digital skills to thrive in today’s fast-evolving technological landscape.
Purpose and Objectives
This scheme aims to:
Enhance digital literacy, particularly in coding.
Empower individuals to explore and acquire basic coding knowledge and skills.
Ensure that no one is left behind by providing financial support to develop in-demand skills and keep pace with digital transformation.
How it Works
The Scheme will be managed by a two-step approach. First the publication of a Boost Your Coding – Catalogue of Approved Courses. Once the catalogue is published, the MDIA will initiate the second stage, during which individuals can submit their applications for financial support to cover the eligible costs once they successfully complete the approved coding courses.
Stage 1: Course Catalogue Development
Invitation to Training Providers
As part of the preparatory phase, MDIA invites reputable training providers to submit coding-related training programmes for evaluation and potential inclusion in the Boost Your Coding – Catalogue of Approved Courses. This catalogue will serve as the official reference for applicants to identify courses eligible for funding once the scheme is launched. Training courses eligible under this Scheme should be completed by 30th September 2026 at the latest. Provided that only courses commencing from 8th October 2025 onwards shall be considered for eligibility under this Scheme.
Submission Process
Interested training providers are requested to:
Review the full initiative specifications and prepare detailed course information in accordance with the guidelines accessible here.
Submit your detailed training programme via email to: schemes@mdia.gov.mt
All submissions will be carefully evaluated by the Boost Your Coding Scheme Evaluation Committee to ensure alignment with the initiative’s objectives and eligibility criteria.
Submission Deadline
Please ensure all training programmes are submitted by Monday 10th November 2025.
Stage 2: Financial Support for Learners
Once the catalogue is published, individuals aged 16+ may apply for financial support to attend one or more listed courses. Support covers 100% of course fees, up to a maximum of €1,000.
If a selected course costs less than €1,000, applicants may apply for additional courses, provided the total funding does not exceed the €1,000 cap.
Eligibility & Completion
Applicants must be 16 years or older.
Upon successful completion, participants must present a certificate of achievement or a certificate of completion (minimum 70% attendance) to receive funding.
