As part of the celebration of Safer Internet Day (SID), the Hellenic Safer Internet Centre is launching the Panhellenic Student Competition 2026, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

Safer Internet Day will be celebrated on 11 February 2026, with the aim of promoting a safer, more responsible and positive internet for all. The initiative is coordinated by the INSAFE Pan-European Network of National Awareness and Vigilance Centres and takes place in more than 180 countries worldwide.
In Greece, the event is organised by the Hellenic Safer Internet Centre of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH), which develops information, education and awareness-raising activities on the safe use of technology.

The competition is open to pupils at all levels of education, divided into three categories:

  • Gymnasium (Grade A – C) – Thematic: “Security in Artificial Intelligence”. Objective: learn about the risks and ethical use of AI, the protection of personal data and critical evaluation of AI tools.
  • High school (Class A-C) – Thematic: “Professions and Skills in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”. Objective: understand how AI is transforming work, the skills needed, as well as social, ethical and professional implications.

Participants can submit projects such as posters, presentations, videos or digital creations tailored to the capabilities and interests of each age group. Projects should highlight the role of AI in modern life by fostering creative expression, critical thinking and reflection on the safe use of technology.

  • Deadline for submission of projects: from 1 October to 20 December 2025
  • Accepted file types: .pdf, .jpg, .png, .ppt, .pptx, .doc, .docx (up to 15 MB)
  • Awards: The projects that will be distinguished will be presented on the website saferinternet4kids.gr, highlighting the voice and creativity of students.

The competition also aims to enhance students’ participation as ambassadors for safe navigation, promoting responsible use of the internet in schools and communities across Greece.
