Course Description:

This practical online course is designed to equip participating educators with the skills and confidence to create inclusive, digital learning resources using AI tools.

Session 1. AI Foundations & Prompt Crafting
This first session introduces the use of Artificial Intelligence in education focusing on the educator’s role. Participants will explore how AI tools may be used to generate media, whilst honing the fundamentals of prompt engineering for text, images, and audio. Participating educators will discuss ethical and legal considerations such as copyright and data privacy. The session includes hands-on practice in crafting inclusive prompts to produce meaningful, classroom-relevant media.

Session 2. Creating Digital Learning Objects
Building on the first session, participants will collaborate on tasks focusing on generating and editing of AI-created media, including visuals and voiceovers. Participants will explore how to combine these assets into cohesive digital learning objects, such as interactive slides or explainer videos. The session also introduces accessibility best practices, ensuring that all content is inclusive and usable by diverse learners.

Session 3. Packaging for Lessons
In the final session, educators will refine their AI-generated content and prepare it for use in the classroom. They will learn how to identify and mitigate bias, enhance inclusivity, and reduce cognitive load in multimedia design. Participants present a complete, AI-enhanced learning object ready for use in their teaching practice.
