Digital Literate is a European project supported by ERASMUS+ that offers an innovative educational platform designed for teachers, educators and facilitators. The project aims to improve media literacy and AI skills through a combined approach that integrates online and offline learning. It brings together countries such as Italy, Lithuania, Portugal and Romania in a collaborative effort to equip educators with the knowledge and tools needed to teach students about artificial intelligence (AI) and media literacy.
Project Results:
Digital Literate MOOC A comprehensive MOOC (Open and Massive Online Course) on Digital and Media Literacy, consisting of 6 modules and support materials, designed to provide educators with essential skills in AI and media literacy.
A practical and accessible catalogue of best practices in Digital and Media Literacy, providing educators with valuable examples to implement in their own classrooms.
Learning Unit Plan (LUP) A guide for teachers that helps them design and prepare lessons, increasing students’ engagement and understanding of AI and digital literacy.
Main content of the Training Programme:
Teachers will receive:
- Presentations for each module
- Classroom activities to engage students and promote understanding of AI concepts
- In-depth features including interactive features, videos, reports and guides
Results:
After completing the course, teachers will:
- Understand fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and its historical context
- Recognize and use chatbots and large language models in educational environments
- Critically evaluate the creation and impact of synthetic media
- Equip students with the knowledge to navigate and understand the evolving landscape of AI
