In order to meet the targets set in the Digital Decade for the training of 20 million ICT specialists in the European Union by 2030, the Ministry of Digital Governance has signed a memorandum of cooperation with technology company Oracle Hellas for the free training of Greek citizens in cutting-edge technologies.
As part of the partnership, it is envisaged to empower citizens with a medium- or high-skilled technological background in increased demand technologies in the labour market, in order to strengthen the domestic pool of talent in emerging technologies.
Interested citizens, through the National Alliance for Digital Skills and Employment, will have access to more than 40 asynchronous (on-demand) training courses in 16 thematic areas, with a total duration of 250 hours. The training modules concern cutting-edge technologies, such as cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, mobile application development, etc. The first courses are expected to begin in the summer of 2024.
This initiative makes Greece the first country in the European Union, where courses on advanced and specialised digital skills are offered free of charge by Oracle, as equivalent courses in the international market are available at a cost.
