On 29 February the European Commission will open the application for two new calls for proposals under the DIGITAL Europe Programme call .

  • Girls and Women in Digital

Despite the rapid growth of the ICT sector, women remain underrepresented. Efforts like the Women in Digital Declaration haven’t made significant changes. The Digital Decade Policy Programme aims to address this by targeting 20 million ICT specialists by 2030 and promoting gender diversity. This action focuses on increasing female involvement in ICT, supporting the goal of employing 20 million ICT specialists by 2030 and promoting gender equality. It includes monitoring progress, establishing networks, analyzing gender gaps, and providing recommendations to address imbalances in the ICT sector.

  • Digital Skills and Jobs Platform

The European Union is facing a digital skills shortage, making it hard for businesses and workers to keep up with new technologies. To overcome this, the EU aims to increase digital skills and promote women’s participation in ICT by 2030. This call seeks to create and support National Coalitions across EU Member States, connecting them with the Core Platform to facilitate training opportunities and address skills needs. The objective is to contribute to the Digital Decade Policy Programme’s targets by expanding existing coalitions’ websites and establishing new ones where needed, ensuring connectivity with the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform.

The two calls are now published on the official Funding and Tenders Portal (Girls and Women in Digital and Digital Skills and Jobs Platform), the submission of applications will close on 29 May 2024 17:00 Brussels time.
