We are organising an initiative titled “Empower Year 7 Female Students – ICT Talks” and are seeking 3 speakers to deliver engaging sessions between February and April 2025.
Each session will last one hour and will focus on inspiring Year 7 female students through personal stories, experiences, and insights into the ICT field. Some boys might also attend.
Here’s a brief overview of what we’d like the speakers to cover:
1. Introduction and Personal Story: – Share backgrounds, achievements, and personal experiences in ICT, including challenges faced and how they were overcome.
2. Exciting Opportunities in ICT: – Highlight various roles in ICT, such as programming, cybersecurity, and data science, with real-world examples of technology’s positive impact.
3. Creative and Problem-Solving Aspects: – Emphasize the creativity involved in ICT, from app design to developing innovative solutions.
4. Diverse Career Paths: – Explain the variety of career options available in ICT, featuring examples of successful women in the field.
5. Importance of Teamwork and Collaboration: – Discuss the collaborative nature of ICT projects and how diverse teams contribute to better solutions.
6. Overcoming Stereotypes: – Address common stereotypes in the tech industry, encouraging girls to pursue their interests without limitations.
The talks can be held in a classroom or a hall, and we will ensure that the necessary equipment is available for presentations.
Payment will be 100 Euros per session.
