SUMMARY:RL:EU Conference: Digital Upskilling for Libraries in Europe
DESCRIPTION:On April 10\, 2024\, the RL:EU Conference: Digital Upskilling for Libraries in Europe will be taking place in Lisbon\, Portugal. The conference will be in a hybrid format\, and will gather library professionals from across Europe to present resources\, frameworks\, and projects on digital upskilling for public libraries. \nAbout RL:EU\n“Resourcing Libraries: connecting libraries to EU resources” (RL:EU) is an Erasmus+ funded project which aims to help Europe’s public libraries unlock EU resources to support their adult education programmes and strategies. This project brings together Public Libraries 2030\, EBLIDA\, and PiNA to develop an approach that helps public libraries and librarians learn about EU initiatives and programmes and access EU funding. \nAs public libraries are the first port of call for many adult learners\, this project aims to help develop libraries’ capacities to be forward-looking adult education learning centres. The project partners support public libraries by organising webinar series\, mentoring and group coaching\, as well as through the development of a training methodology\, a workbook\, a collection of good practices\, and policy recommendations for EU funding of public libraries. \nConference programme\n\n11:30 – 11:45: Introduction of the RL:EU project (in person and live-streamed)\n11:45 – 12:30: EU frameworks and programmes on digital literacies and Table discussions (in person and live-streamed)\n\nPart 1: EU frameworks and tools to foster and evaluate digital competences followed by a table discussion\nPart 2: EU programmes supporting digital upskilling: CERV and Erasmus+ followed by a table discussion\n\n\n12:30 – 13:30: Lunch and networking\n13:30 – 14:30: Living Library of EU projects on digital literacies in libraries (in person and online)\n14:30 – 15:00: Wrap-up and lessons learnt (in-person and online)\n15:00: Networking\n\nWho is this event for?\nThe RL:EU Conference targets any library professional interested in EU programmes\, and adult education. \nThe conference will take place within the same week as the EBLIDA Annual Conference ‘Charting the future of libraries’\, which will focus on the professional needs of libraries in order to fulfil their mission. \nRegistrations are open!\nDon’t miss out – registrations for the conference are now open! \n  \n© RL:EU Connecting libraries to EU Resources
