SUMMARY:CONNECT University - How can the EU boost advanced digital skills?
DESCRIPTION:The ‘State of the Digital Decade’ report points out a big challenge: almost half of Europeans (46%) don’t have basic digital skills. Companies are grappling with difficulties in recruiting ICT specialists\, underscoring that the EU must enhance efforts in the global talent race\, especially in the fields of science\, technology\, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The Commission (DG CONNECT) is organising an online CONNECT University online session on 27 February to discuss how Europe can boost digital skills. \nThe workshop will be divided into two main parts:\n\n\nThe first part will showcase the current EU status regarding to the ICT specialists (advanced digital skills) target. \n\n\nThe second part will be an open panel discussion with experts\, focusing on what different sectors are already doing to contribute to improving ICT skills\, what are the challenges\, and what more can be done. \n\n\nCheck the full agenda and join the European Commission’s event.
