SUMMARY:EU Code Week 2024
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 edition of the EU Code Week will take place from the 14-27 October. Organised with the support of the European Commission\, EU Code Week is a volunteer-run initiative working to promote digital literacy and collaboration\, and help kids\, young people\, and adults bring their ideas to life through coding and programming. For two weeks\, thousands of activities will be organised across Europe and beyond by schools\, teachers\, libraries\, code clubs\, businesses\, and public authorities. \nGet involved!\nAnyone and everyone is invited to take part in EU Code Week. Here are some of the ways you can get involved in EU Code Week: \n\n\nCheck out the map of Code Week activities to join an activity organised within your community. \n\n\nPick a topic and target audience\, and organise your own activity and add it to the EU Code Week map \n\n\nBecome an EU Code Week Ambassador in your country \n\n\nSchools and teachers can participate in the Code Week 4 All Challenge by connecting activities across communities or borders – and together\, obtain the Code Week Certificate of Excellence. \n\n\nEU Code Week is not just a week!\nEU Code Week  is a European grassroots initiative\, aimed at sparking citizens’ and especially children’s and teenagers’ interest in coding\, computational thinking\, robotics\, and related digital skills\, all year around! \nMillions of participants\, including schools\, institutions and people of all ages\, cultures and backgrounds take part in the initiative each year. Activities are organised by teachers\, coaches\, private companies\, NGOs and many other bodies and coding enthusiasts\, who aim to bring programming and coding within everybody’s reach\, from children and younger people to parents and older persons. EU Code Week is also supported by the European Commission and Education Ministries of EU Member States\, including neighbouring countries from the Western Balkans. \nResources\, toolkits and trainings\nIn their mission to make learning coding accessible to everyone\, Code Week has made all activities\, resources\, trainings and online courses free. All resources can be filtered by type\, skill level\, programming language\, and category. The tutorials and trainings materials have been made available in 29 languages. \nUnsure on how to get started? EU Code Week provides toolkits (communication toolkit\, teachers toolkit\, EU Code Week official leaflet) for organisers and teachers\, as well as a guide on organising your own activity. \n\n© EU Code Week
